Lonicera Pileata Privet Honeysuckle

This evergreen shrub has boxwood-like foliage and low spreading habit and small, fragrant, funnel-shaped creamy-white flowers in May and pretty, violet-blue translucent berries in winter. Lonicera pileata makes a good groundcover, where a branch touches the ground it will root-in and slowly spread over time.

Salt tolerant and does well in seashore plantings.  Prefers full sun to light shade and requires occasional watering during dry periods.  Can be grown in sand or clay given adequate drainage.  Takes shearing well.
