Viburnum Plicatum Summer Snowflake
‘Summer Snowflake’ is an upright variety that can reach 8’ tall. White lacecap-like flowers begin to bloom in Spring and continue sporadically through Summer, (hence the cultivar name) and frequently into early Fall. The stunning burgundy Autumn foliage color may all be simultaneously present
Leaves, flowers and fruits are smaller than those found on typical Viburnum. tomentosum plants.
Originally discovered by R. F. Michaud of Alpenglow Gardens, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, wild, in Japan in the the 60’s . Introduced by the Canadian Ornamental Plant Foundation through the University of British Columbia plant introduction program.
