Woodwardia fimbriata Giant Chain Fern

The largest American fern, native to California and the Pacific Northwest, has striking fronds 3 – 5 ft. tall or more. Its sori are short but broad and are arranged in neat lines, the characteristic that gives the chain ferns their name

Prefers part shade but will accept darker conditions. Will grow in open, somewhat sunny areas as long as it has access to moisture. Great in moist woodland gardens near a stream or against a shady wall. Deer resistant.
