Hydrangea Macrophylla Miss Saori

  • Ryoji Irie
  • RHS Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year 2014

This award-winning shrub is a showy addition to the garden. The fully double white blooms are liberally frosted with a soft rosy-pink edging that keep their color regardless of soil pH. Medium to fast growth rate and long flowering period that begins in June and lasts through fall. Large mophead-type flower clusters look fantastic in a cut-flower arrangement or bouquet, too. Prefers a partially shaded area with well-drained, moisture-retentive soil. Prune after flowering in late fall to maintain plant size. Lures beneficial pollinators to the garden.
